The proposed $6 billion development at the Childersburg Industrial Park represents a massive transformation for the historic 486-acre Alabama Ordnance Works site. Led by a group linked to Western Hospitality Partners, this hyperscale campus is designed as a sustainable, high-tech hub featuring advanced glycol-based closed-loop cooling to minimize local water impact.

While the project is currently in its due diligence phase to assess the environmental readiness of the former military land, it promises to be a significant economic engine for Alabama, potentially creating over 200 high-salaried permanent roles and nearly 2,000 construction jobs once the site work begins.
