Vantage Data Centers
Vantage Data Centers plans to build a data center complex in Port Washington on up to 1,900 acres, potentially making it one of the world's largest. While Vantage hasn't officially announced its plans, discussions between Cloverleaf and city officials indicate the campus could span 1,900 acres and consume 3.5 gigawatts of electricity.
Conceptual plans for the campus include 11 data center buildings and five substations. These buildings will house thousands of interconnected computers, using fiber optic cables to connect to the outside world. This infrastructure is essential for powering a vast array of modern online services, including social media, video streaming, cloud storage, banking, air traffic control, and increasingly, AI tools.
The development is expected to unfold in two to three phases. Construction on the initial phase could begin in Fall 2025 and be completed by 2027. The entire complex is projected to take 6 to 10 years to build out, with full completion anticipated between 2030 and 2035.
