TigerDC: South Carolina SC1

Short Code: Project Spero (SC1)
Site planned for 2028 and has expansions through 2030
PUE: 1.2
Lot Size: 868 acres

TigerDC’s SC1 Data Center (also known as Project Spero) is a next-generation AI infrastructure project located in Spartanburg County, South Carolina. Strategically positioned in the Tyger River Industrial Park—North, this $3 billion facility is purpose-built to handle the high-density cooling and power demands of modern Artificial Intelligence and High-Performance Computing (HPC).

The site features advanced liquid cooling technologies, including Direct-to-Chip (DLC) and Rear Door Heat Exchangers (RDx), and utilizes an incredibly efficient design targeting a PUE of ~1.2. By leveraging its proximity to major fiber corridors and the Myrtle Beach Cable Landing Station, TigerDC SC1 serves as a critical hub for secure, domestic digital infrastructure in the Southeast.

While Phase 1 delivery is targeted for Q2 2027, the project has faced recent administrative delays. The Spartanburg County Council has postponed several key votes following public pushback regarding power and water consumption. Despite these legislative hurdles and minor weather-related interruptions in early 2026, TigerDC is actively working with local officials to address community concerns and maintain its construction timeline.
