Solar Power

Switch Station 1 and Switch Station 2 power plants commissioned in December 2017 at the Apex Industrial Park are designed to generate 179 megawatts, enough electricity to meet the needs of 46,000 homes. The solar plants serve Switch facilities in Reno and Las Vegas.

Tahoe Reno 1, the first building on the campus, is 1.3 million square feet and can support up to 130 MW of power. Switch’s design for the 2,000 acre campus calls for up to 7.2 million square feet.
