The proposed data center, known as the Rock Creek Data Center Project, is a large-scale commercial development planned for a 121-acre tract at 10375 Old Granbury Road in Fort Worth. Put forward by applicant WUSF 5 Rock Creek East LP (affiliated with Walton Global)/Westwood Professional Services, the project was approved by the Fort Worth City Council in September 2024 despite local opposition.
The campus is designed to consist of five buildings totaling approximately 1.5 million square feet, with an approved maximum building height of 105 feet. The facility is intended to process data for AI services, cloud storage, and streaming services (excluding Bitcoin mining), and is expected to generate an estimated $750 million in taxable value and substantial annual tax revenue for the city and school district. The development includes concessions to the community such as a 15-acre park, walking trails, and a 15-foot noise barrier around the generators.
