Utility Provider: The Illuminating Company (FirstEnergy)
Lot Size: 225 acres

Province Group has agreed to buy about 225 acres of former nursery land, known as Champion Farm, in the center of Perry Village and the neighboring township, off U.S. Route 20. It proposes six buildings of about 250,000 square feet each, a $1 billion investment and 200 to 300 jobs, under the name Perry Technology Park. No site plan has been filed, and the land purchase has not closed. Council rejected a 15-year tax abatement in July 2026, and voters approved a measure in November 2026 that requires financial guarantees before any abatement.

Site History

  • November 2026: Voters approved Issue 16, which sets financial guarantees for any data center abatement.
  • July 2026: Village council rejected a 75%, 15-year tax abatement.
  • April 2026: Residents packed a village council meeting to oppose the project.
  • July 2024: A Province affiliate agreed to buy the village-owned land.
