The developers behind Project Cumulus, CRG Cumulus LLC, withdrew their proposal for a data center in St. Charles, Missouri, primarily due to intense local opposition from residents. The withdrawal occurred the day before the St. Charles City Council meeting on August 19, 2025.
Project Cumulus was a proposed data center facility to be built on a 440-acre parcel of land in the City of St. Charles, Missouri, located near Highway 370, between Huster Road and Harry S Truman Boulevard.
The public outcry against the project was significant enough to prompt the withdrawal, and was notably praised by Senator Bernie Sanders as a successful stand against "unfettered corporate greed."
