Prime Data Centers is planning to develop a major AI and high-performance computing campus in Pennsylvania’s northern tier through a strategic partnership with UGI Energy Services.
Under the agreement, Prime is acquiring a land parcel from UGI for an on-site natural gas-fueled power generation facility, supported by dedicated pipeline infrastructure. The site offers access to approximately 15 billion cubic feet of underground natural gas storage capacity, leveraging the region’s Marcellus Shale reserves and proximity to major interstate pipelines for exceptional energy resilience. UGI’s planned investment exceeds $100 million, with Prime’s gas demand projected to surpass 100,000 dekatherms per day within three to five years, positioning the project as one of Pennsylvania’s largest data center developments.
