Prime DC has submitted plans to build two data centers near Austin, Texas. The company has registered with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation to construct the facilities in Lockhart, Caldwell County. The projects, named AUS01 and AUS02 and located at 1395 Bob White Road, will each span 380,000 square feet (35,303 square meters). Construction is scheduled to begin in June 2026, with completion expected in September 2027.
Prime aims to invest $400 million in the project. The company is yet to officially announce the development. Lockhart is a city in and the county seat of Caldwell County, located between Austin and San Antonio. Edged and PowerHouse are also looking to develop campuses in Caldwell County. News that Prime was looking to develop in Caldwell County surfaced in early 2024. The company was tied to a 206-acre development known as Project Snow.
Prime has a total of 7GW of operational and planned capacity across the United States and Europe. Its footprint spans major hubs including Chicago, Phoenix, Austin, Pittsburgh, Los Angeles, and the broader Silicon Valley, as well as European locations such as Frankfurt, Berlin, Helsinki, Esbjerg, and Madrid. The company’s investors include Macquarie Capital, Ares Management, Siemens Financial Services, Snowhawk, Nuveen, and Grain.
