$1.7bn Lebanon County Data Center Plan Withdrawn by Developer

A proposal for a $1.7 billion data center campus in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania, has been withdrawn by developer Inch & Company. The project included plans for five data centers spanning roughly 640,000 square feet on a 100-acre site near Mt. Pleasant Road, including the rezoning of 58 acres for industrial use.

But the lawyers representing 1235 Martina Drive Owner, a joint venture between Inch and developer Eastern Land & Resources, yesterday sent a letter to the Board of Supervisors in South Annville Township saying that it had “decided to no longer pursue the development of a data center in South Annville Township.” “By way of this letter, petitioner hereby withdraws its request,” the letter concludes.

The South Annville Township Planning Commission voted against recommending the rezoning request last week, while opponents of the project gathered more than 500 signatures on a petition against the proposed facility. Most of Pennsylvania’s data centers are concentrated around Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, with Lebanon County currently appearing to have none, according to Data Center Map.
