Vantage Data Centers has announced that OpenAI and Oracle will be the anchor tenants for an $8 billion data center campus in Port Washington. Located on the city's northwest side, the project is expected to generate over 1,000 long-term jobs and thousands more indirect positions.
The campus, named Lighthouse, is a key part of the previously announced partnership between OpenAI and Oracle to expand Stargate capacity. This new Port Washington location is the designated Midwest site for the Stargate expansion.
Construction on the campus, which will include four buildings providing close to a gigawatt of AI capacity, is scheduled to begin soon and be completed by 2028. Vantage Data Centers will develop 500 of the 672 total acres. The Lighthouse campus is designed with a focus on environmental stewardship, aiming to preserve local resources, support new clean energy, and enhance the surrounding natural spaces. Vantage, Oracle, and OpenAI expressed gratitude for their partners, including We Energies.
