Lumen Louisville 1 is a compact downtown network and colocation site at 848 South 8th Street, on the south side of the Louisville central business district. The facility traces its lineage to the original Level 3 / Williams Communications metro fiber buildout and remains an active node on Lumen's national long-haul network after the 2017 CenturyLink / Level 3 merger and 2020 Lumen rebrand.
The site is one of three Lumen-operated facilities in the Louisville metro, alongside downtown locations at 332 W. Broadway (Lumen Louisville 3, the former TW Telecom carrier hotel) and additional Lumen network space at 730 W. Main Street. Together these locations form the core of Louisville's carrier and interconnection fabric. The 8th Street site emphasizes carrier services and small-footprint colocation tied directly to Lumen's fiber backbone.
The building offers diverse fiber entry and is on-net for Lumen and Zayo, with additional carrier and cloud access available through cross-connects. NPA-NXX 502-561 is assigned to the site.
The site reads as a converted telco / carrier-hotel facility rather than a purpose-built modern colo. Total building footprint is approximately 13,400 square feet, with around 1,146 square feet of raised-floor colocation space. Power is delivered by LG&E (Louisville Gas & Electric), the regional electric utility serving downtown Louisville.
