Italian energy company Eni is teaming up with Khazna Data Centers, a Middle Eastern firm, to build a new AI data center campus in Ferrera Erbognone, Lombardy, just outside Milan. The two companies have signed a heads of terms agreement to establish a joint venture for this development.

Work on the campus has already begun. A key feature of this project is its power source: "blue power," supplied by Eni through a new, dedicated power plant. Eni describes blue power as a low-carbon energy source generated by natural gas plants, with the crucial addition of carbon capture and storage technology to minimize CO2 emissions.
