Google: Project Mica

Short Code: Rocky Branch Creek
Year Planned: 2027
Lot Size: 493 acres

Google is developing its Rocky Branch Creek Technology Park data center in Northland, Kansas City, Missouri.

Port KC has authorized up to $10 billion in taxable revenue bonds to finance the project and has granted substantial tax incentives (25-year, 75% property tax exemption, and 100% sales tax exemptions).

  • In late 2023, Google acquired nearly 500 acres for the project, located northeast of Interstate 435 and US Highway 169.
  • Construction is slated to start in 2025, proceeding in phases. The first building is expected to be completed within 18 months of site activity.
  • The 500-acre, 1.56 million-square-foot campus will feature five hyperscale data center buildings designed to handle extensive digital data processing.
