Google: Franklin Furnace Campus

Year Planned: 2028
Lot Size: 792 acres

Google has officially confirmed its role as the developer behind the $1 billion data center project in Franklin Furnace, Ohio, ending months of speculation surrounding the shell company "Tilted Gate LLC." The massive development, located on a 792-acre site in Scioto County, is slated to include two primary buildings totaling approximately 1.7 million square feet of infrastructure designed to power Google’s AI services, Search, and Gmail.

As part of a negotiated tax abatement approved in early 2026, Google has committed to prioritizing local trade labor for construction and will provide "Payments in Lieu of Taxes" (PILOT) starting at $500,000 annually, positioning the project as one of the largest economic investments in the region's history.
