Bolt North Holdco LLC applied for a Shackelford County tax abatement, and the county accepted the application for review in September 2026. Agreement sessions continued through November 2026.
The campus plans its own power generation, starting with natural gas.

Bolt plans campuses that start on natural-gas power and add renewables and nuclear over time. Its first named project is Project North on the Buck Nail Ranch in Shackelford County, Texas.
