The Birgunj site is the second of Bichuten Data Vault's two initial facilities, planned to begin operations shortly after its Kathmandu counterpart. Like the Kathmandu site, it is designed to Tier IV reliability standards and will draw on domestic hydroelectric power. It forms part of the company's phased approach to reaching its longer-term capacity target.

(BDV) is a Nepal-based data center company founded by a group of established local business figures — including Naveen Agrawal and Min Agrawal of Fair Group and Anuj Keyal of Keyal Group — whose backgrounds are in diversified conglomerate sectors such as healthcare, automotive, and agriculture rather than technology. BDV positions itself as a sovereign digital infrastructure provider serving governments, financial institutions, and enterprises, with services spanning colocation, AI/ML-oriented cloud capabilities, and in-country data residency.
