The Birgunj site is the second of Bichuten Data Vault's two initial facilities, planned to begin operations shortly after its Kathmandu counterpart. Like the Kathmandu site, it is designed to Tier IV reliability standards and will draw on domestic hydroelectric power. It forms part of the company's phased approach to reaching its longer-term capacity target.
