South Asia: Ncell launches new data center in Lalitpur, Nepal

Ncell has announced that it has launched a new data center in the Nakkhu area of Lalitpur, a city located just south of Kathmandu, in Nepal, following an investment of around Rs 2 billion ($15.1m). Work began on the facility in 2018 and was completed in 2021.
According to Ncell, the facility is two-story and built with a prefabricated containerized design; it features 50 racks across three data halls across a 1,530 sqm (16,530 sq ft) site. It also offers a capacity of up to 5 MW, with a redundant design load of 2.25MW.
Further, the company said the facility can withstand earthquakes up to nine on the Richter scale.
