Data Center Campus
Equinix's Culpeper, Virginia campus at 18155 Technology Drive, built by Terremark as the NAP of the Capital Region and bought by Equinix from Verizon in 2017. First built in 2008, with expansions through 2018.
Equinix's Culpeper campus sits at 18155 Technology Drive in Culpeper, Virginia, about 60 miles southwest of Washington, D.C.
History. Terremark began the campus in 2007 on a 30-acre site as the NAP of the Capital Region, a secure facility aimed at federal agencies and enterprises. It added 27 adjacent acres in 2010. Verizon bought Terremark in 2011, and Equinix acquired the campus with 28 other Verizon data centers in May 2017.
Infrastructure. The campus takes two 30 MW feeds from Rappahannock Electric Cooperative and a third 30 MW feed from Dominion Energy. A 72,000 sq ft secure office building with a 150-seat auditorium serves the data center buildings. Terremark's master plan called for up to 850,000 sq ft of raised floor across eleven buildings.
