QTS is set to develop data centers at Lancium’s Clean Campus in Hall County, Texas. The companies plan to invest $10 billion to build up to 11 data center buildings across 465 acres near Turkey, Texas. The site is supported by a 1GW grid connection.

“We are excited about the potential to expand into the special communities of Turkey and Hall County,” said Tag Greason and David Robey, co-CEOs of QTS. “Our goal is to be a responsible neighbor, one that listens, invests in local priorities and supports sustainable growth for families and businesses across the community. We’re committed to being a lasting part of Hall County for decades to come.”

Lancium and QTS will fund all energy infrastructure upgrades needed for the campus, with Lancium expected to provide power through on-site solar and battery storage. QTS said the data centers will use closed-loop cooling systems to reduce water consumption and will not rely on Turkey’s municipal water supply.

“Lancium develops energy and civil infrastructure at its campuses for sustainable power that supports grid stability and reliability,” said Michael McNamara, founder and CEO, Lancium. “In partnership with QTS, Hall County and the City of Turkey, we are bringing this investment to Hall County in a way that benefits the grid and provides long-term economic and societal benefit to the community. We’re proud to partner with QTS on this project.”

QTS, acquired by Blackstone for $10 billion, operates data centers across the US and Europe, including several sites in Texas. Lancium, originally a crypto mining company, now develops Clean Campuses for data centers and is building sites in Abilene, Childress, and Hall County.qts_hall_county_texas.width-358.png
