A new data center campus has been proposed outside Leesburg in Virginia’s Loudoun County. First reported by BizJournal, the Farkas family has filed a pre-meeting application with the county to develop a campus on undeveloped land along the west side of Gulick Mill Road, south of Leesburg, west of Ashburn, and near the Academies of Loudoun school.
Filed through law firm Curata Partners, the application seeks to rezone around 87 acres from transitional residential to industrial park, along with a special exception to allow the construction of two data center buildings and an on-site substation.
Full details of the proposed data centers have not yet been disclosed. A property listing and sales brochure from CBRE for Holyfield Farm at 20961 Gulick Mill Road previously described the site as “ideally suited” for either data center use or single-family residential development.
