NTT has broken ground on its new data center in Northern Virginia. The data center would be housed in NTT's Ashburn data center campus. The new data center called VA6 will span 188,000 square feet (17,465 square meters). It will also have 24MW of critical IT load. The data center will be NTT's sixth on the campus. According to the company, VA6 will be completed in 2024. Clark Construction Group is responsible for developing the facility.
The VP of Clark Construction, Louie Sarracino, said the company is happy to partner with NTT to develop the project. He continued by saying: "Data centers are a key sector for Clark, and we look forward to accelerating our growth in the data infrastructure sector in the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond." NTT currently operates only one facility in Northern Virginia. The data center campus sits on 78-acre. NTT plans to develop nine data centers with up to 224MW of critical IT load on the site.
