JKT2A extends the JKT2 campus, which hosts more than 240 network service providers, the JKT-IX internet exchange and several submarine cable connections, the Jakarta Globe reported. NTT Global Data Centers, the data center division of NTT DATA, develops and operates the building and markets its capacity to hyperscale and enterprise customers. The company did not name tenants or disclose lease terms.
JKT2A covers 5,800 square meters (62,430 square feet) and supports rack densities of up to 40kW, according to Data Center Dynamics. It runs on two power substations with a 2N UPS architecture and N+1 backup generators. Cooling uses N+1 air-cooled chillers and an N+2 computer room air handler configuration, and the design carries a Tier III certification.
Alongside the opening, NTT DATA launched APN Connect, which the company describes as Indonesia's first connectivity service built on All-Photonics Network technology. The service provides high-capacity Layer 1 links between JKT2, JKT2A and the JKT3 site, which are about 35 kilometers apart, and is designed to support disaster recovery and data replication.
"The opening of JKT2A is an important milestone for our business in Indonesia and, more importantly, for the many clients we serve here," said Yasuhiro Kajiki, managing director for Japan and APAC at NTT Global Data Centers. He said the expansion and APN Connect give clients a more connected and resilient platform.
Doug Adams, president and CEO of NTT Global Data Centers, said Indonesia is one of the most dynamic digital economies in Southeast Asia. "The opening of JKT2A reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting clients' cloud, AI and digital transformation initiatives with resilient, high-performance infrastructure," he said.
The Jakarta Post reported that the opening responds to rising demand for cloud, AI and digital services in Indonesia. NTT announced plans for JKT2A in May 2024 and topped out the building in July 2025. Its larger Jakarta 3 data center in Bekasi carries 45MW of IT load.
