Indonesia: Metta DC Launches New Data Center in Jakarta, Indonesia

A new Indonesian data center firm called Metta DC has opened a new data center in Jakarta, Indonesia. The facility is located in the Jababeka Industrial Estate. In addition, the three-story facility will offer up to 35MW of power upon completion. It also has a capacity for up to 3,000 racks. The first phase of the data center development currently offers 10MW of power. Upon full build-out, the facility will provide 107,600 square feet (10,000 square meters) of white space across six data halls.
Per the President of Metta DC, Sukoco Halim, the company plans to develop up to 500MW in data center capacity over the next five years. He noted that many data centers are planned in the country including Nusantara and Batam. The Minister of Communication and Information of Indonesia, Johnny G. Plate was present at the inauguration event. He said: “The first Tier IV government cloud data center is in Jabodetabek which hopefully will lay the first stone in early November. This Tier IVData Center is for the government's needs." According to him many more data centers will also be developed.
