KIO aims to double capacity of data centers by 2025

May 31, 2023 | Posted by MadalineDunn

KIO has shared its plans to double its data center capacity over the next two years.

"Our growth plan involves creating over the next two years the same capacity we have accumulated in the last 22 years. It will be a significant investment," commented Kio chief executive officer, Jorge Sapien.

Sapien outlined that previously, data center adoption in the region was slow due to companies being apprehensive about outsourcing their data hosting.

Currently, the data center operator has a data center footprint in five countries, with 20 data centers in its portfolio. Its growth plans also include Panama, Guatemala, Colombia and Spain and has already begun work on a new facility in the Valencian city of Paterna in Spain.

"We are expanding like never before," Sapien added.

KIO Data Centers has 18 sites.
