GLP Begins Development Of 200MW Data Center In Foshan, China

GLP has begun developing a 200MW data center campus in Foshan, Guangdong, China. The first 40MW phase is now under construction, with GLP investing RMB 4 billion ($600m) in the project. The campus is being built for an unnamed internet and cloud services company and is expected to be one of the largest data center projects in the Greater Bay Area.

The data center will use hybrid liquid and air cooling, supporting liquid-cooled racks of up to 140kW. Modular construction and prefabricated components could enable delivery within four months. GLP has operated in China’s data center market since 2018 and currently has 20 operational and under-development facilities totaling 1.4GW of IT capacity. The company sold its international business in 2024 to focus on China and has since expanded its digital infrastructure plans across the country.
