DayOne Begins Construction Of Data Center In Tokyo, Japan

APAC data center operator DayOne has started construction on its new Kodaira data center in Tokyo, Japan. Phase I will provide 15MW of IT capacity, while the full Kodaira campus is planned to reach 42MW.
DayOne CEO, Jamie Khoo, said: “Today’s groundbreaking marks a beginning, not only of a new facility, but of DayOne’s long-term commitment to Kodaira and to Japan’s digital future.”
DayOne is also developing an 80MW campus at Fuchu Intelligent Park with Gaw Capital. The 66,360 sqm site will be built in phases, with the first 18MW building expected to be core and shell ready by mid-2027.
Spun out of GDS in 2025, DayOne has more than 500MW of capacity in service or under construction, plus another 500MW planned across Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia.
