European data center operator NorthC has begun construction of a new facility in Frankfurt, Germany.

“A new chapter begins for NorthC Datacenters Deutschland on Mainzer Landstraße: The preparatory construction work for our new FRA01 data center has begun,” the company said on LinkedIn this week.

The new facility at Mainzer Landstraße 695 in western Frankfurt will provide 6MW, with the first phase expected to go live in January 2028.
NorthC has three data centers under development around Frankfurt, alongside its operational Frankfurt 3 site. Its planned Frankfurt 2 facility in nearby Neu-Isenburg will provide 4.5MW. NorthC was formed in 2019 through the merger of Dutch operators TDCG and NLDC. Antin Infrastructure Partners acquired the company in December 2025.

NorthC entered Germany in 2022 by acquiring IP Exchange and first announced plans for a 5MW Frankfurt data center in January 2024. It later announced a second Frankfurt facility, planned to start at 1.5MW and reach 10.5MW. Its 900kW Frankfurt 3 facility was acquired from Colt last year and was formerly operated by CenturyLink/Lumen. Across Germany, NorthC operates sites in Berlin, Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Nuremberg, and Munich.northc_frankfurt_1.width-358.png
