Global Switch has been chosen to host a large Nvidia Blackwell cluster at its data center in Paris, France. The mostly liquid-cooled deployment will be installed at Global Switch’s Nvidia DGX-ready facility in the city. The exact size has not been disclosed, but Global Switch described it as one of the largest Nvidia Blackwell deployments in Europe.
Global Switch has not disclosed the identity of the end user for the Nvidia Blackwell cluster. Nicolas Duhamel, president of Global Switch France, said the deployment highlights the company’s ability to support AI and high-performance computing customers with high power capacity, advanced cooling, and resilient connectivity.
“It also underlines the role that established, highly connected data centers can play in accelerating AI innovation at scale and in supporting France’s sovereign AI ambitions.”
Global Switch’s Paris campus is powered entirely by renewable energy. The site is also set to supply waste heat to the city of Levallois-Perret from 2027, with plans to replicate the initiative in Clichy. The campus experienced a fire in 2023 after a cooling system water pump failure caused water to leak into the battery room, resulting in outages at Google. Google is among the known customers at the Global Switch Paris campus.
