Elea Digital, a Brazilian edge data center company, has announced that it is developing a new data center following the purchase of a hyperconnected property owned by TIM, in Porto Alegre (RS). The company has outlined that it expects the project to become the largest data center in the south of Brazil.

The project plans to develop the facility, which currently has a space of 4,000 sqm, with 1.2 MW of installed power and 5 MW of expansion potential, and is a potential landing point for submarine cables, capable of connecting Brazil to the United States, Uruguay and Argentina. Commenting on the company's intentions for the projects, president of the platform, Alessandro Lombardi, said: "We are working to expand and bring a quality digital infrastructure to connect companies in the South region."

This purchase brings the company's total portfolio to seven in the country, and its expansion is reportedly part of its plan to promote and grow national digitalization. Speaking about this, Lombardi commented: "To transform the market, it is necessary to believe in the future. And we believe it."
