Elea Digital launches 2.5MW expansion of its RJO1 data center

Brazilian data center provider Elea Digital has launched an expansion of its data center after investing R$100 million to add 500 square meter space and 2.5MW of IT capacity to its Rio de Janeiro data center dubbed RJO1.

With this expansion, the facility’s total capacity is now 5MW, enabling it to host 200 new racks. The facility is rated Tier III by Uptime Institute, and rated Gold by the US Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. It is also home to the "largest media and content network in Latin America." 

Alessandro Lombardi, president of Elea Digital said, “It is very important to be associated with digital infrastructure, but it is also essential to think of Elea as a company that values ​​sustainability. This is a data center that has always paid great attention to the environment, with the use of clean energy. It won’t be any different now.”

Elea Data Centers has 13 sites.
