Elea Digital: Piemonte Holdings' Elea Acquires TIM Brasil's Facility in Porto Alegre, Brazil

Brazilian data center company Elea Digital has bought a data center facility in Porto Alegre from TIM Brasil. The facility is called POA2, and its first phase has a capacity for 500 racks. Elea Digital is owned by Piemonte Holdings, and it says it plans to expand the data center in the future. The terms of the acquisition were not revealed.
The CEO of Piemonte Holdings and President of Elea, Alessandro Lombardi, said: “Today, the data center has a space of 4,000 sqm (43,000 sq ft), with 1.2 MW of installed power and 5MW of expansion potential, in addition to being a potential landing point for submarine cables, capable of connecting Brazil to the United States, Uruguay, and Argentina. We are working to expand and bring a quality digital infrastructure to connect companies in the South region.”
Elea already has a data center in Porto Alegre. The company’s 2.5MW data center has a capacity of 820 racks across 21,450 square feet (1993 square meters) of data center space.
