EdgeCore Digital Infrastructure is building a new facility in Santa Clara, California. The company started building the first of two data centers on Juliet Lane and Laurelwood Road this week. The two-story SV01 has 36MW in 255,200 sq ft. The LEED-certified facility will have 72MW in 540,000 sq ft. Silicon Valley Power will supply power in Q1 2024.
EdgeCore's president and CFO Jeff Dorr said the Silicon Valley facility inauguration is a thrilling start to a full year of development. EdgeCore continues to incorporate sustainable building and operating techniques into each high-performance, ready-for-occupancy data center, including this Santa Clara facility, to meet their clients' high expectations. In 2018, EdgeCore opened six data center facilities in Arizona, Phoenix, Virginia, and Silicon Valley. In 2021, the business proposed building a data center on a disused HP facility in Berkshire, UK. Last year, Partners Group purchased the firm. EdgeCore said Partners Group would commit up to $1.2 billion to buy and develop data centers.
The corporation also proposes a new Reno campus on its website. The 1.3 million-square-foot Peru Drive facility will come online in 2024 with 180MW across five two-story structures.
