Digital Realty Trust: Digital Realty will construct a data center in Rome

Digital Realty plans to extend its operations into Italy and has already purchased land in Rome, the country's capital. Following the purchase of land in Rome and the subsequent pre-development planning for it, the company announced its entry into the Italian market last week.

The ROM1 data center, which will have the quality of Tier IV, will be located on the 22-hectare property. There was no disclosure of the particulars, including the location. The business has stated they anticipate construction to commence in the fourth quarter of 2023.

Similarly, the local colocation provider Aruba is in the process of constructing a facility in Rome that is scheduled to open sometime this year. Both Milan and Genoa are home to data centers run by Equinix.
