Digital Realty Breaks Ground on Rome Facility

Digital Realty this week announced that work on ROM1 has started. On schedule to be completed in 2027, the facility will offer 3MW of IT capacity at launch. Digital Realty said that the 22-hectare campus could total 2.3 million sq ft (213,676 sqm) at full build-out, making it one of the largest data center projects in the country.

"ROM1 represents a major milestone in our strategy to build out a dense network of highly connected, sustainable data center hubs across key growth markets, enabling our customers to scale their digital infrastructure and reach across Europe, the Middle East, and beyond.”
