Ada Infrastructure Breaks Ground On Latest Tokyo Data Center

Data center firm Ada Infrastructure has started work on another new data center in Tokyo. “Last week, we held the groundbreaking ceremony for our fifth project in Japan, as well as the third and final building at Tokyo's TKW1 campus,” Ada announced on Linkedin this week.
Ada began construction on the first TKW1 building in August 2023, followed by the second in May 2024. The Tokyo campus will feature two 10MW buildings and one 11MW facility, with the first expected to launch in May 2025 and the second in 2027.
“Our third groundbreaking ceremony, second in Tokyo in just four months. Ada is truly moving at an unprecedented pace,” said Ras Scollay, principal, revenue and product lead, APAC at Ada Infrastructure.
Ada was founded by GLP in 2023 to manage its non-Chinese data center assets and was acquired by Ares in 2024 alongside GLP’s other international assets. The company plans to invest around $12 billion over five years to develop 900MW of data center capacity in Japan. It currently has five planned campuses totaling 600MW across Tokyo and Osaka. Ada is also developing data center projects in the UK and Brazil.
