A data center occupied by Rackspace is for sale in Kansas City, Missouri. Collers are offering 10828 NW Airworld Drive as a "long-term NNN lease investment opportunity." No sale price was disclosed. The two-story, 77,545-square-foot building was built 1982 on 5.2 acres and came with a single-tenant, long-term NNN lease. The complex, which underwent upgrades in 2009, 2012, and 2015, is equipped with 3.5MW of utility power and 1.5MW of critical IT capacity across 15,440 square feet of raised floor space in three data halls.
According to the sales brochure, Rackspace is a long-term tenant that has consistently invested in the data center since 2015 and has a 10-year-plus lease at the location. Rackspace administers the facility as its MC|1 site; after acquiring Datapipe in 2017, it assumed control of the data center. Through their joint DataCore fund, GI Partners and the California State Teachers' Retirement System purchased the site in 2015. The data center is situated at the Airworld Center, a 330-acre business park on the east side of I-29, roughly south of Kansas City International Airport. It was built in 1975.
