Damac And Vodafone Türkiye Triple Investment In Izmir Data Center Project

Damac Digital and Vodafone Türkiye have begun construction of their planned data center in Izmir, western Turkey. The project was first announced in 2024 with a $100 million investment, but Damac Digital has now increased the budget to $300 million. The facility will be Vodafone’s second data center in Izmir and sixth in Turkey, making it the largest data center in the Aegean region. It will initially provide 4MW of capacity, with plans to reach 20MW across 7,500 sqm (80,729 sq ft) and more than 650 cabinets.

Hussain Sajwani, founder of Damac Group and chairman of Damac Digital, said advanced digital infrastructure will be essential to Türkiye’s competitiveness as AI, cloud computing, and data-driven technologies continue to transform the economy. He added that combining Vodafone Türkiye’s local expertise with Damac Digital’s global experience will help build resilient infrastructure for the country’s future. Formerly known as Edgnex, Damac Digital was founded by Sajwani in 2021 and began operations with a 12MW campus in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
