American Tower has announced that it has completed the acquisition of DataSite. American Tower has now added two new data centers to its portfolio of state-of-the-art colocation facilities with the purchases. In addition, the investment also means American Tower will now manage and operate DataSite's data centers in Atlanta, Georgia, and Orlando, Florida. None of the companies disclosed the terms of the deal.

DataSite's Orlando data center is a 130,000 square feet purpose-built facility on 16 acres of land. The facility is at 9701 South John Young Parkway. The firm's Atlanta facility is at 1130 Powers Ferry Place, Marietta. It is also a single-story building built on 7.5 acres of land.

Vice President of Product Line Management for American Tower, Eric Watko, said acquiring DataSite enhances the company's portfolio. He further noted that the acquired Metro Data Centers are essential for the firm's edge strategy. The acquisition sees American Towers' data center portfolio rise to nine.
