NextDC has announced its plans to develop a data center in Adelaide, Australia. The Australian data center firm revealed that it had purchased land to develop a 10MW data center which will be called A1 Adelaide. The facility will be a Tier IV-certified data center. It will also develop a Mission Critical Operations tower in the Adelaide central business district. The company did not reveal the purchase price of the land.

The CEO of NextDC, Craig Scroggie, said the company is delighted to have been selected by Adelaide to develop the site into a state-of-the-art technology center. He noted that the company is really happy to be leading the technological development in South Australia through investments. The data center will be located at 211 Pirie Street. NextDC also has plans to invest up to AU$100 million (US$72m) in the project. The project is expected to go live in 2023.
