SOLAI Limited

SOLAI Limited, known as BIT Mining Limited until October 2025, is a crypto mining and digital infrastructure company. Its headquarters is at 428 South Seiberling Street in Akron, Ohio.

The company runs crypto mining data centers and hosts customers' mining machines in them. It leases space inside Viking Data Centers' Akron building. It also owns 95% of a mining data center in Ethiopia through Alpha Data Center Plc.

The company began in China in 2001 as 500.com, an online lottery business. It listed on the New York Stock Exchange in 2013. It became BIT Mining in April 2021 as it moved into crypto mining. In October 2025 it renamed itself SOLAI Limited to mark a shift toward artificial intelligence and blockchain technology. In 2026 it began selling a home AI device, the Solode Neo.

• In September 2026, CEO Xianfeng Yang resigned.
• In August 2026, the NYSE delisted SOLAI's American depositary shares, which now trade on OTC Pink as SLAIY.
• In June 2026, SOLAI bought 51% of Neuraland, a Singapore maker of personal AI hardware and software.
• In May 2026, SOLAI began selling the Solode Neo, a home AI device.
• In March 2026, SOLAI announced a personal AI infrastructure strategy and received a going-private proposal from Chaince Digital Holdings.
• In December 2025, SOLAI dropped the unbuilt expansion of its Ethiopia data center and raised its stake in the site to 95%.
• In October 2025, BIT Mining changed its name to SOLAI Limited and its NYSE ticker from BTCM to SLAI, effective October 20.
• In August 2025, BIT Mining bought its first Solana tokens and started running its own Solana validator.
• In July 2025, BIT Mining announced a plan to raise up to $300 million for a Solana treasury. It also completed the second phase of its Ethiopia purchase.
• In December 2024, BIT Mining agreed to buy crypto mining data centers in Ethiopia and closed the first phase.
• In February 2024, BIT Mining completed the sale of its BTC.com mining pool business. It kept the btc.com domain and blockchain explorer.
• In June 2022, BIT Mining and Viking Data Centers split the Akron site's power, and BIT Mining kept exclusive use of its share.
• In September 2021, BIT Mining formed a joint venture with Viking Data Centers to build a crypto mining data center in Akron.
• In April 2021, 500.com changed its name to BIT Mining and its ticker to BTCM.
• In November 2013, 500.com listed on the NYSE under the ticker WBAI.
