The Communauté d'Agglomération Pau Béarn Pyrénées (CAPBP) is a public inter-municipal cooperation body in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department of southwestern France, bringing together 31 communes in and around the city of Pau. As a French agglomeration community, it delivers pooled public services across its member communes and has been active in territorial digital development for more than twenty years, having helped establish some of Europe's earliest public fiber-optic networks for local residents and businesses. Its broadband initiatives ultimately brought fiber coverage to the entire core agglomeration, forming the foundation of its longstanding public digital-infrastructure strategy.
The Pau data center is a small public "proximity" facility under construction near the city's Centre Technique Municipal in southwestern France. Owned by the CAPBP agglomeration and operated by Axione, it is designed to host local government and partner data with delivery due in late 2027.
