Borealis Data Center

Originally founded in 2014, Borealis was acquired by Etix Everywhere in 2018. French investment fund Vauban Infrastructure Partners acquired a majority stake in Borealis Data Center in July 2021. The company operates three sites in Iceland; one in Reykjavík, one in Blönduós, and one in Fitjar in Reykjanesbær.

Borealis Data Center Locations

Etix Blönduós, an HPC & Blockchain data center campus, was completed in March 2019. Using modular construction, the campus was operational within 3 months and fully delivered in 9 months.

Icelandic operator Borealis Data Centers Kajaani facility is located in the Renforsin Ranta Business Park in Kajaani in central Finland. Borealis Data Centers has acquired this facility from Finnish MSP Herman IT.

Located north of the Arctic Circle in the heart of the Swedish Lapland, the data center is an 8 MW colocation infrastructure and has a 20,000 m2 green field available for future expansion.
