Western Hospitality Partners (WHP) is advancing plans for a 321-acre data center campus in Pekin, Illinois, located just south of Peoria. The project, centered on the Lutticken Farm site, is part of a larger 1,000-acre acquisition by the City of Pekin aimed at creating a regional technology park.

While the development could significantly boost the local tax base, it faces organized resistance from the Tazewell County Data Center Opposition group, which has over 2,000 members concerned about resource usage and local impact.

As of early 2026, the project remains in the planning phase under a land option agreement, echoing similar challenges WHP has encountered with its proposed developments in Braidwood, Illinois, and across the Midwest.
