Investment firm Ardian and its data center platform Verne have announced plans to develop a €5 billion ($5.82bn), data center campus in France's Île-de-France region near Paris, with the initial phase slated for completion by 2030.

Marking Verne's first expansion into France, this project is designed to support the AION consortium's bid which includes major partners like Iliad/Scaleway, Orange, Bull, and EDF to build a French "AI gigafactory" under the European Union’s AI Gigafactories initiative.
