Tract withdrew its plans for the Mooresville Technology Park data center due to local opposition, which included protests from hundreds of area residents and public comments from Kerry Earnhardt, son of the late NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt.
The withdrawn plan by Tract was to develop the Mooresville Technology Park, a new data center campus on a 400-acre site in Iredell County, North Carolina. The proposed project would have featured up to five buildings offering a total of 1.5 million square feet of data center space and was projected to involve an investment of more than $30 billion over two decades.
