TeraWulf: Hawesville, KY

Lot Size: 750 acres

In a significant industrial pivot, Century Aluminum Company has sold its 750-acre former smelting site in Hawesville, Kentucky, to Raylan Data Holdings (an affiliate of TeraWulf) for $200 million. This transition reclaims over 250 buildable acres for a cutting-edge data center campus designed to power high-performance computing and AI workloads.

With its existing power capacity, on-site energized substation, and direct access to high-voltage transmission networks, the site is uniquely positioned for immediate development. Although Century Aluminum retains a 6.8% minority stake, this phased redevelopment marks a new era of digital infrastructure for the Commonwealth, repurposing legacy power assets to meet modern AI and computational demands.
