In October 2024, Talen Energy acquired full ownership of Nautilus Cryptomine, a Bitcoin mining facility in Berwick, Pennsylvania, from TeraWulf. TeraWulf and Talen Energy Corporation were jointly developing the Nautilus Cryptomine. This facility is currently under construction at the Susquehanna nuclear power plant located near Berwick, in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, USA. Following the acquisition, Talen now holds a 100 percent share in Nautilus.

  • The Company began mining at the Nautilus facility in February 2023 and deployed its full share in phase one of the facility – 50 MW – in April 2023.
  • Talen's additional 50 MW of capacity at the Nautilus facility is expected to come online in 2025 and could accommodate up to 2.5 EH/s of operational mining capacity.
  • Nautilus Cryptomine is a 100% nuclear-powered bitcoin mining facility.
