Through its newly established subsidiary SK Hyper, SK Telecom has partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to construct South Korea’s largest AI-dedicated hyperscale data center in Ulsan (305 km southeast of Seoul).
Situated on a 36,000-square-meter parcel near SK Gas’s LNG combined heat and power plant, the site leverages local power stability and LNG cold energy for cryogenic cooling. The campus will feature 60,000 GPUs supporting an onboard "AWS AI Zone" equipped with platforms like Bedrock and SageMaker.
Operations are scheduled to launch in late 2027, with full buildout targeted for early 2029.
