KT Cloud is developing a 50MW data center in the Cheongna district of Incheon, South Korea. The facility will have two basement levels and 11 floors above ground. Construction is due to begin in Q4 2026, with completion targeted for Q1 2030. As the design, build, and operate partner, KT Cloud will oversee development, including design, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works, commissioning, and operations.

Hyundai Engineering is the joint contractor, handling architectural, civil, equipment, landscaping, and telecommunications works. KT Cloud will link the facility to its regional data centers to support customer growth and network continuity. The site will serve AI and cloud workloads, with a dedicated AI zone using direct-to-chip liquid cooling.

"We expect the Cheongna AI data center to serve as a key hub in the western cluster of the capital region and to respond effectively to demand from domestic and overseas corporate customers that require large-scale AI infrastructure," KT Cloud CEO Kim Bong-kyun said. "We will continue to expand our AI data center supply base both inside and outside the capital region, and give concrete shape to our 1GW AI data center goal based on differentiated technological capabilities."

KT Cloud aims to reach 1GW of data center capacity by 2031, up from its previous target of 320MW by 2030. Its existing facilities include a 10MW site in Yecheon-gun, a 26MW data center in Seoul’s Geumcheon District, and a 30MW facility in Dae Bong Dong.Screenshot_62.width-358.webp
